January 23, 2025, Peoria, IL - Today, Domincue D. Linwood, 26, was found guilty of First Degree Murder for the September 2022 murder of Jamarion Lee, 24, in the South End. Lee made a dying declaration that was recorded on the responding police officer's body-worn camera and played to the jury during the three-day trial.
On September 3, 2022, at approximately 6:20 a.m., police responded to a 12-round ShotSpotter alert in the 1600 block of West Adrian G. Hinton Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they were informed that a man who had just been shot was on the porch of a house nearby. There, officers found Lee lying in a large pool of blood and immediately began life-saving measures. While trying to help Lee, officers asked him if he knew who shot him. Lee identified Linwood, by his nickname "Dooder," as the shooter just before he passed out. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Twelve shell casings were recovered from the scene that were fired from the same gun. Lee was shot three times.
Sentencing for the case is set for March 19.
