The Village of Western Springs has extended the public survey for the Safe Travel to School Plan. Residents are encouraged to take part in the survey, to share ideas and experiences to help improve walking, biking, and rolling to local schools. Gathering insights from the public is an important step in the planning process and resident input will have a direct impact on the plan that will help Western Springs become a safer, more accessible, and more connected place for students and families.
Input is sought from students in Western Springs, parents, residents, and business owners. More than 300 citizens have already shared their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions about improving student safety on their trip to school. Streets that are safe for children are safe for everyone, so we encourage everyone to participate. Additional opportunities to get involved will take place through the summer and fall, so follow the Village website and social media and to receive additional updates.
The online survey has bee extended and will continue to be available online through the end of August. In addition to the online survey, there is an interactive mapping tool that allows citizens to indicate specific areas of concern related to safe travel to school.
