MAYOR'S UPDATES

  • Warming Shelters: As our region continues to experience an arctic air outbreak, the city has a variety of locations that serve as warming shelters during the day.
  • Cold Weather Safety: With near-sub-zero temperatures expected overnight through the next few days, please take precautions to prevent fires, carbon monoxide incidents, frozen pipes, and other cold-related emergencies. Simple steps like checking smoke and CO alarms, keeping space heaters clear, and letting faucets drip can help protect your home and your family during this extreme cold.
  • Powering the Olympics from Stamford: As the Milan Cortina Winter Games kick off today, I am incredibly proud that the heart of the Olympic broadcast is right here in Stamford. A dedicated team of 1,600 professionals is working around the clock at NBC Sports' Stamford headquarters to bring more than 3,200 hours of coverage. When you tune in this month to cheer on Team USA, you are also seeing the talent and hard work of our very own workforce. Read more here.
