Education Futures Council Unveils Report ‘Ours to Solve - Once, and For All’ Highlighting Path to Revitalize Public Education in America

Stanford, California -The Education Futures Council (EFC) has released its report, "Ours to Solve, Once - and For All," to address the public education crisis in America. The report outlines a new framework for revitalizing public K-12 education across the nation.

The Council is diverse by design, reflecting a wide range of personal and professional life experiences that span the political spectrum. Supported by a team of policy experts and researchers, they developed a new approach to revitalizing the public education system to address its most pressing challenges. This report is the culmination of that work.

"Education excellence is critical to the societal contract supporting our democracy and is inextricably tied to the success - or failure - of our nation," remarked Secretary Condoleezza Rice, 66th U.S. Secretary of State, Hoover Institution Director and co-chair of the Council.

The report calls for a comprehensive new approach that focuses on organizing for student-based results. It proposes strategies prioritizing incentivizing educational mastery, minimizing rigid mandates, and cultivating a dynamic, responsive education workforce. Each recommendation is deliberately designed to interconnect with the others and be executed as a whole to effect meaningful change.
