Will my storm-related yard vegetation debris be collected by Metro?
If you normally receive brush collection service from Metro, your storm-related debris will be collected within the next few weeks. Residents on Metro streets within the Urban Services District (USD) and General Services District (GSD) will be serviced during this special collection.
When will my storm vegetation debris be collected?
We anticipate the first countywide collection to take 2-3 weeks to complete from the start date of 2/3/2026. Additional collections will follow as needed. Please place materials at the curb and crews will be through within the next few weeks to collect material. Many streets have much more debris than normal as a result of this winter storm, slowing down the collection process and transfer of material.
How is NDOT prioritizing neighborhoods as part of this special collection?
NDOT has completed two complete countywide assessments of storm damage and debris in the right-of-way, including debris at the curb. The assessment demonstrates a need for both a countywide and area specific approach, and our special collection plan is guided by the results of these assessments.
Is there a schedule for the special collection?
While our regular brush collection program does run on a schedule, this special collection does not. Because the storm damage is so widespread, with certain areas hit harder than others, we are conducting a countywide pass of Metro streets. Some areas may require more collections than others given the amount of damage and debris in the right-of-way and our crews will be responsive as needs and conditions change across the county. Once all storm debris is collected, we will resume the normal brush collection schedule.
What will the city collect from the curb as part of this special brush pick-up?
Only yard debris will be collected. This includes fallen or cut trees and limbs as well as other yard vegetation. No trash, construction debris, or other household debris will be collected.
Where should I place my storm-related vegetation debris?
Debris should be placed at the curb of your property either. If you have alley access and normally place debris at the back of your property, please place it there. Vegetation debris and brush should not block fire hydrants, storm drains, drainage ditches, culverts, alleys, sidewalks, bike lanes, car travel lanes or other essential infrastructure.
What if my debris doesn't all fit at the curb or my yard is too small?
If your debris does not all fit at the curb, place what you're able to at the curb. We will be making multiple passes through the county, so you'll have the opportunity for multiple collections if necessary. If you have questions or require a special accommodation, please contact hubNashville by visiting hub.nashville.gov, using the hubNashville app, or calling 311.
What if I live on a private street?
Private streets in Davidson County will not be serviced as part of this special collection. Davidson County residents can dispose of brush and other yard waste free of charge (trailers will be charged a fee) at the following locations managed by Living Earth: 1511 Elm Hill Pike or 6401 Centennial Boulevard.
Do I need to submit a hubNashville request for brush collection?
You do not need to submit a hubNashville request once you've placed vegetation debris at the curb. Crews will be making multiple countywide passes over the next few weeks. All residents on Metro streets need to do is place material at the curb and NDOT will get it.
Is regular brush collection currently running?
NDOT has suspended our regular brush collection program and is currently running this special storm-related vegetation debris collection. We will notify residents once the regular brush collection process has resumed.
What if I'm not able to get vegetation from my private property onto the curb?
There are lots of resources available to residents who are unable to get yard debris from private property to the curb. Residents requiring assistance should call 211 or visit nashvilleresponds.com and be connected with resources to help.
What if I live in a satellite city? Will my yard debris be collected?
Individuals living in satellite cities within Davidson County should contact their local city management for details regarding debris removal.
