Tamil Nadu 2026 Round 3 Choice Filling 2026 Closes Soon: The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Chennai is set to close the Round 3 choice filling and locking window for Tamil Nadu MBBS and BDS admission 2026 soon. Candidates participating in the 7.5% special reservation quota for Tamil Nadu Government school students must complete their choice filling process before the deadline to secure their seats across Government Medical/Dental Colleges, ESIC Medical College, and Self-Financing institutions.

According to the official schedule released on tnmedicalselection.net, the online choice filling and locking process for Round 3 will end on October 9, 2026, at 05:00 PM . Candidates can edit their choice preferences any number of times before final locking. However, if a candidate fails to lock their choices manually before the deadline, the system will automatically lock the filled preferences at 05:00 PM on October 9.

The seat allotment processing will take place on October 10 and 11, while the Round 3 provisional seat allotment result will be published on October 12, 2026. Allotted candidates will be able to download their provisional allotment order between October 12 and October 14 (up to 12:00 PM) and must report to their respective colleges by October 14, 2026, till 05:00 PM.

Important Instructions for Candidates Filling Round 3 Choices

Candidates must strictly keep the following guidelines in mind while participating in the choice-filling procedure:

• Choice Lock Mandatory: Once choices are locked, no further modifications will be permitted under any circumstances.

• Seat Relinquishment: If a candidate gets re-allotted or upgraded in Round 3, they will lose rights to their previously allotted seat in Round 1 or Round 2, which will then be offered to other candidates.

• Virtual Vacancies: Seats occupied by candidates who applied for upgradation are displayed as virtual vacancies and will become real vacancies only if the candidate upgrades.

• No Future Eligibility: Candidates allotted a seat in Round 3 who join the institute will not be eligible for the subsequent Stray Vacancy round.

Candidates are advised to log in to the official portal immediately to complete their choice preference submission without waiting for the last hour to avoid technical delays.
