Sen. Rick Scott Visits Global Empowerment Mission facility in Miami Ahead of Humanitarian Aid Effort for Venezuela

MIAMI, Fla. - Today, U.S. Senator Rick Scott visited the Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) humanitarian facility in Miami to thank the volunteers and partner organizations working tirelessly to prepare critical humanitarian aid for the Venezuelan people as the nation recovers from the devastation caused by the recent earthquakes and moves toward a democratic transition.

During the visit, Senator Scott received a briefing from Michael Capponi, CEO of Global Empowerment Mission, on the ongoing recovery efforts and humanitarian response. Senator Scott also met with GEM Staff, volunteers, community leaders, and humanitarian partners who have dedicated countless hours to collecting, organizing, and preparing life-saving supplies that will support Venezuelan families in the days ahead.

Senator Rick Scott said, "It's wonderful to be here in Doral with Global Empowerment Mission and thank them for the incredible work they are doing. Unfortunately, so many people have lost their lives or have been injured in Venezuela, and thank God for Global Empowerment Mission and everything they do each and every day to save lives. We are going to continue fighting-we are not going to stop fighting-for freedom, liberty, and opportunity for the people of Venezuela. Right now, we must do everything in our power to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those who need it most."

Since day one, Senator Scott has fought alongside the Venezuelan people in their pursuit of freedom, repeatedly calling for maximum pressure on the Maduro regime, supporting sanctions against regime officials, advocating for humanitarian assistance, and standing with democratic leaders seeking to restore liberty and the rule of law.

As humanitarian efforts continue, Senator Scott reaffirmed his commitment to working alongside President Trump, Secretary Rubio and partners across Florida to ensure the Venezuelan people receive the support they need as they begin rebuilding a free, democratic and prosperous nation.
