Romania is ready to support the Allied effort for Ukraine

Romania is a reliable and active ally in defending NATO's eastern flank and maintains its commitment to multidimensional and sustainable support for Ukraine, in close coordination with NATO and the European Union.

Romania is aware of and will take part in all allied decisions regarding the security guarantees. The assessments that are being made at this time will be formalized through decisions that will respect international treaties and laws in force.

The Romanian Air Force has F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters and the certification of a German Air Force detachment has recently taken place at Mihail Kogălniceanu Military Base. The German detachment conducts enhanced Air Policing Missions in cooperation with the Romanian soldiers, to defend NATO's airspace.

Romania's military air infrastructure represents a strong point on the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance in terms of deterrence and defence.

Romania reaffirms its firm commitment to national and collective security, acting responsibly and in full accordance with its obligations undertaken within NATO and the European Union.
