Congresswoman Bynum Visits ICE Facility in Portland: “Our City is Not a Warzone”
Oregon City, OR - After visiting the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in South Portland yesterday, Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05) released the following statement:
"I visited the ICE facility in Portland to observe the ongoing protests, and saw for myself what I've known all along: our city is not a war zone. The Trump Administration is spreading lie after lie to make the city sound dangerous and justify the attempted takeover of an American city. These protests are peaceful, and made up of Oregonians exercising their First Amendment rights and making their voices heard. The president needs to stop with the lies and keep his troops out of our city - if he really wants to help, he can run us our money."
