Meet Lee, Senior Director of Programs

As Arete Scholars' Senior Director of Programs, Lee helps advance the organization's mission of opening doors to opportunity for underserved students. Driven by a passion for helping others reach their potential, Lee is committed to ensuring scholars and families have the support and opportunities they need to thrive.

Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Furman University and an MBA from Georgia Tech. Growing up in a close-knit community with a family of teachers shaped Lee's belief in education's importance and the power of helping others discover their potential and purpose.

What excites Lee most about working at Arete is being part of a team united by a shared mission.

"I'm thrilled to be part of such a dedicated, talented group focused on our shared mission," Lee says. "I'm looking forward to getting to know the families and communities we serve."

Lee's belief in Arete's mission comes from a lifelong understanding of what it means to fulfill one's potential. Raised by a family of educators, Lee was introduced early to arete, the pursuit of excellence and the fulfillment of one's purpose.

"The concept of achieving arete, or fulfilling potential and purpose, was instilled in me early on and has become a major part of my career calling: to help others fulfill their potential and purpose," Lee says.

Outside of work, Lee enjoys spending time outdoors, a passion that began growing up on a working farm in South Georgia. That connection to the outdoors has continued through playing rugby in college, working in the sports industry, and traveling to scenic destinations. A 2022 trip through Wales remains a particularly memorable adventure.

We're excited to have Lee on the Arete team, bringing a passion for education, personal growth, and helping scholars and families reach their full potential.
