Tasman low expected!

Key points - Newcastle to South Coast

Saturday: Small and clean to start, then going onshore as a strong southerly change moves up the coast.

Sunday: Building south swell, well overhead to double overhead plus at south-facing breaks, but raw and pretty horrible with strong southerlies. Sheltered corners start small, then could be chest to head high by the end of the day as the swell angle comes round - some fun little waves on offer.

Monday: One of the peak days, with a better southeast swell angle and morning southwesterlies. Looking like a pretty decent morning at east-facing stretches like Maroubra and Manly, with head-high to maybe overhead surf. I think the spot forecast numbers are underdone.

Tuesday: Another peak day and looking like a really good one to target for solid, clean surf. More southeast and east swell filling in, morning offshores and widespread clean conditions. I think we'll see easily double overhead surf, with maybe triple overhead sets at exposed breaks and slabs. Not expecting a full-on big-wave event at the bigger, deeper-water reefs, but worth watching.

Wednesday: Easing surf and something a bit more easy going, with offshore winds in the morning. I think there'll still be more swell around than the spot forecasts show - another good day to target.
