From State Secretary Andreas Kravik on the situation in Iran

'At a meeting with the Iranian ambassador today, I emphasized the gravity of the situation and strongly condemned the severe and disproportionate violence against the demonstrators,' said State Secretary Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik.

'I stressed that the Iranian authorities have a clear responsibility to protect their own population and reiterated the demand that the Iranian authorities immediately cease the violence, respect human rights, and ensure free and unhindered access to information.

'Our thoughts are with all those who have lost someone and with those who are worried about their loved ones. What is happening in Iran now is not only dangerous for Iran and the Iranian people, but also for the entire region', said Kravik.
