Auto Train Improvements

Amtrak continues improving the customer experience on the Auto Train, a daily, non-stop service traveling between Lorton, Va., near Washington, D.C., and Sanford, Fla., near Orlando. The service offers guests the unique opportunity to travel with several types of vehicles - including cars, vans, motorcycles, SUVs, small boats, jet skis and more.

Amtrak has modernized the interiors of the Coach, Dining, Sleeping cars and Sightseer Lounges-with new seating cushions and upholstery, carpet, LED lighting, tables and curtains.

Other enhancements include helping customers avoid rush hour when traveling to the station. Amtrak has adjusted its Auto Train schedule by offering an earlier departure time. From both Lorton, Va., and Sanford, Fla., the train will now depart at 4 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. and is scheduled to arrive the next day at 8:59 a.m.
