Childers and Lincoln named to 2026-27 CODES Fellowship Program

DURANT, Okla. - Two Southeastern employees have been selected for the Community-Oriented Digital Engagement Scholars (CODES) Fellowship Program. Rachel Childers, an Honors Program advisor, and Kyle Lincoln, director of study abroad and associate professor in the Department of Social Sciences, will participate in the program over the 2026-27 academic year.

CODES is a general education pathway at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) offers full tuition scholarships for students who are among the first generation in their family to attend college, who are historically underrepresented in their major, or who are Pell-eligible.

As part of the fellowship program, Childers and Lincoln will participate in monthly virtual meetings throughout the year to learn about the program's methods. They will also attend a three-day institute at SIUE in September 2026 to observe the program and meet with faculty.

After completing the program, they will work with faculty and staff at Southeastern on how to integrate all or parts of the CODES model into organizations on campus.
