Bridge closed on WV 62 in Mason County
West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) bridge engineers closed a bridge on WV 62 over Three Mile Creek in Mason County today, Thursday, February 26, 2026, following a bridge inspection.
Engineers discovered problems with the cut stone bridge abutments underneath the short span bridge.
Engineers plan to install a temporary bridge until the span can be replaced.
Detours are as follows:
Northbound local traffic: Leon Baden Road to WV 87 to WV 62.
Southbound local traffic: WV 2 to WV 87 to Leon Baden Road and back to WV 62.
Northbound truck traffic: from Buffalo, take US 35.
Southbound truck traffic: From Point Pleasant, take WV 2 to US 35.
