USDA Announces $6 Million for City of Vassar Public Safety Complex

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development State Director for Michigan Dom Restuccia today announced a $6 million grant for a public safety complex in the City of Vassar.

"President Donald J. Trump is steadfastly committed to empowering State and local law enforcement and first responders to protect American citizens. Under the leadership of Secretary Brooke Rollins, the Department of Agriculture is ensuring that Michigan communities such as the City of Vassar have the resources needed to support public safety. This new facility will greatly enhance the efficiency and capability of the City of Vassar," said Restuccia. "This investment reflects the leadership of Secretary Brooke Rollins and President Donald J. Trump's commitment to rural communities."

The state-of-the-art facility will house both the fire and police departments, improving operational efficiency and emergency response for the community.

USDA provided the grant through the Community Facilities program and Vassar is contributing $2 million. The facility will serve 2,727 residents.
