Stearns Indicted on Additional Sex Abuse Charges

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

St. Helens, Ore. - On Friday, February 21, 2025, a Columbia County Grand Jury indicted Eric Stearns, 47, of St. Helens on 11 new counts of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree. Stearns was already in custody at the Columbia County Jail on related charges.

Stearns' indictment is the result of the St. Helens Police Department's ongoing investigation into allegations of historical sexual abuse at the St. Helens High School. Detectives identified and interviewed four additional victims as part of the continuing investigation. Detectives forwarded their reports to the Columbia County District Attorney's Office, who then presented the information to a Columbia County Grand Jury.
