Ashley Crites Selected for Class IX of the Alabama Leadership Initiative

The City of Tuscaloosa is proud to announce that Executive Director of Urban Development Ashley Crites has been selected to join Leadership Alabama's Class IX of the Alabama Leadership Initiative (ALI).

Crites has served the City of Tuscaloosa for more than 13 years in a variety of development-focused roles. In her current position, she leads the Urban Development department, overseeing public policy analysis, land use implementation and strategic planning. Beyond her work with the City, she serves as Secretary of the Alabama Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA) and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).

Leadership Alabama is a highly competitive, statewide program that brings together emerging leaders and young professionals. Established in 1995, the program complements Leadership Alabama's broader leadership network and is centered on three core goals: education, connections and personal development.

"It is truly an honor to be selected for the Alabama Leadership Initiative," said Ashley Crites. "I look forward to learning from fellow leaders across the state and bringing new insights and ideas back to the City of Tuscaloosa."
