Turner and Clemson University celebrate the opening of the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine, a transformative new campus that will welcome its inaugural class of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students this fall.

The project reached a major milestone with the opening of the college and the first day of classes, officially welcoming students to South Carolina's first veterinary school. The Hub and Clinical Teaching Buildings are now in use for instruction. The new college will expand opportunities for veterinary education, research, and clinical care while helping address the growing demand for veterinarians across the state. The veterinary medicine campus includes seven buildings designed to support an integrated approach to education, research, and animal care. The Hub serves as the heart of the campus, providing spaces for students to attend classes, study, collaborate, and engage with one another. The complex also includes the Ambulatory Service Building, Clinical Teaching Building, Research Building, Central Utility Plant, Farm Animal Teaching Building, and Equine Teaching Building.

"Our team is incredibly proud to help bring Clemson's vision for veterinary education to life," said William Hussey, Project Executive, Turner. "Reaching this milestone reflects the tremendous commitment of our project team, trade partners, and everyone who worked together to create a campus that will serve Clemson's students and communities throughout South Carolina for generations to come."

The opening represents the culmination of years of planning, coordination, and construction to create a comprehensive veterinary education campus. The facilities will provide future veterinarians with spaces built for hands-on learning, clinical training, research, and collaboration as Clemson begins a new chapter in veterinary medicine in South Carolina.
