Chinese Consulate General in Munich Hosts 'Qingdao Meets Regensburg' Summer Cultural Reception

On July 16, 2026, the "Qingdao Meets Regensburg" Summer Cultural Reception was successfully held at the Chinese Consulate General in Munich. Over 100 distinguished guests attended, including representatives for local governments and Chinese sister provinces and cities of Bavaria, from fields such as political, economy, culture, education, media, friendship associations and the Bavarian Chinese community. The Qingdao TV Xiaobaifan Art Troupe and the Cantemus Choir of the Regensburg Municipal School of Singing and Music jointly presented wonderful performances.

In his remarks, Consul General Qiu Xuejun noted that since establishing friendly cooperative relationship in 2009, Qingdao and Regensburg have achieved fruitful cooperation across a wide range of fields. The collaboration in tonight's performances by young artists from Qingdao and Regensburg also echoes the vision of the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. The Consulate General looks forward to continuing to work together with all the friends on both sides to deepen mutual understanding through dialogue, advance common progress through mutual learning. Dr. Thomas Burger, First Mayor of Regensburg stated in his remarks that the two cities have engaged in extensive and highly effective cooperation, maintaining a sister-city relationship that remains vibrant and dynamic. Mr. Fan Qizhi, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Qingdao Municipal People's Government, extended a warm welcome via video message for  Regensburg to attend the second China-Germany City Summit.

The performances drew waves of enthusiastic applause and concluded successfully with a heartfelt rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" by Chinese and German youths.
