Baker McKenzie Strengthens Global M&A Practice with the Addition of Anna Orlander as Partner in Stockholm

Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce that Anna Orlander has rejoined the Firm as a partner in its Stockholm office, starting 1 April 2026. Anna's appointment strengthens Baker McKenzie's market-leading global M&A and transactional practice and underscores the Firm's commitment to providing clients with seamless, cross-border transactional advice in an increasingly complex global environment.

Anna rejoins from multinational gaming and entertainment company Embracer Group, where she served as Head of M&A Legal, and brings a strong track record across private M&A and complex cross-border transactions. She advises clients on structuring, implementing, and managing transactions efficiently while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. Her work covers post-acquisition integration, carve-outs, and multi-jurisdictional corporate restructuring projects. Anna represents clients across a wide range of sectors, including technology and industrials, and brings valuable in-house experience.

"We're delighted to welcome Anna back to Baker McKenzie," said Costin Mihailescu, Managing Partner of the Stockholm office. "This is where she began her career and grew into an exceptional deal lawyer, and we've truly missed her energy and expertise during her time away. Her experience, both in private practice and in-house, gives her a unique ability to guide our clients through ambitious acquisitions and reorganizations across the Nordics and beyond."

David Allen, Co-head of Global Transactions practice group, added: "Anna exemplifies the qualities that define Baker McKenzie's Transactional practice: global reach, technical strength, and client-centricity. Her arrival reinforces our commitment to building the most collaborative and sophisticated transactional team worldwide."

Commenting on her move, Anna Orlander said: "I am excited to return to Baker McKenzie and to contribute to its exceptional global M&A platform. Today's transactions require not only technical excellence but also a deep understanding of clients' strategic objectives. I look forward to working with colleagues across the globe to help our clients achieve their ambitions."

Anna's return comes at a time of exceptional momentum for Baker McKenzie's global M&A practice, reflecting the Firm's ongoing commitment to investing in leading talent and delivering seamless cross-border transactional support in all major transactional markets. In recent months, the team has welcomed a number of high-profile partners across key jurisdictions. London-based partners Mark Thompson, Nick Benson, Kevin Heverin, James Wyatt, Helen Johnson, and Michal Berkner; Jan Schubert in Frankfurt; Tamás Szkiba in Budapest; Todd Beauchamp and Charles Weinstein in Washington, DC; Dan Ouyang, Winfield Lau, and Ke (Ronnie) Li in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong; Alexander Stathopoulos in Singapore; Chris Milliken in Ho Chi Minh; Bima Sarumpaet in Jakarta; Andres Barroso in Mexico City; and Miju Damodar in New York.
