Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds working lunch with UK's All-Party Parliamentary Group for Thailand

On 22 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had a working lunch with the United Kingdom's All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Thailand, led by H.E. Mr. Mark Garnier, Chair of the Group and the United Kingdom's former Trade Envoy on Thailand, on the occasion of their visit to Thailand. Also in attendance were H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the United Kingdom, H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding, British Ambassador to Thailand, and Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs.

Both sides welcomed the commemoration of the 170th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, reflecting the close relationship at all levels. They discussed ways to further promote bilateral trade and investment, including the initiation of negotiations on a Thailand - UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA). They also exchanged views on global issues, during which Advisor Vijavat reiterated Thailand's position in finding a peaceful resolution to the Thai - Cambodian border situation.
