Highlights from the 2026 European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology meeting - Children's National
During the meeting, Andrew Dauber, MD, MMSc, chief of Endocrinology and director of the Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics Research, was formally presented with the ESPE International Research Award.
Endocrinologists from Children's National attended the 64th annual European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) meeting this September in Marseille, France. Each year, leading pediatric endocrinology and diabetes experts from around the world gather to share the latest research, clinical advances and innovations shaping the field.
During the meeting, Andrew Dauber, MD, MMSc, chief of Endocrinology and director of the Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics Research, was formally presented with the ESPE International Research Award. The award recognizes individuals whose research has made an exceptional and lasting impact on basic endocrine science or clinical pediatric endocrinology.
Dr. Dauber, a pediatric endocrinologist who specializes in growth disorders, has published more than 150 studies and is internationally recognized for his work identifying rare genetic growth conditions, uncovering genetic factors that influence height and puberty, and advancing precision medicine approaches for children with endocrine disorders.
A strong advocate for integrating research and clinical care, Dr. Dauber leads efforts to translate genomic discoveries into new treatments and improved patient care. His most recent work includes a Phase 3 multicenter study published in NEJM Evidence that found vosoritide increases growth in children with hypochondroplasia, a rare genetic skeletal condition with limited treatment options.
In addition to the award presentation, Dr. Dauber and Roopa Kanakatti Shankar, MD, shared the latest Children's National research and clinical insights at the meeting.
