City of Palm Bay Hosts Public Open House for Malabar Road Beautification Project

The City of Palm Bay invites residents and business owners to attend a Public Open House for the Malabar Road Beautification Project on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Palm Bay City Hall (120 Malabar Road SE).

The Malabar Road Beautification Project is a corridor improvement concept focused on enhancing safety, functionality, aesthetics, and civic identity along Malabar Road-from the Winn-Dixie Shopping Plaza to the I-95 Interchange. As one of Palm Bay's most significant transportation corridors, a designated parade route, and the location of City Hall, Malabar Road serves as the City's emerging "civic spine."

The project is currently a planning and visioning effort and is not funded at this time. It is being advanced through the City's Leaders in Training Excellence (LITE) Program, an internal leadership initiative launched under City Manager Matthew Morton to explore meaningful improvements that strengthen community identity and sense of place.

At the open house, attendees will be able to review project information and phased corridor segments, view potential beautification and safety enhancement concepts, learn about streetscape and public art opportunities, and see a presentation of community survey results. Participants will also have the opportunity to share feedback to help guide future priorities for the Malabar Road corridor.

Due to the corridor's length, the project is envisioned in three phases: Phase 1 from the Winn-Dixie Plaza to Eldron Boulevard; Phase 2 from Eldron Boulevard to Emerson Drive; and Phase 3 from Emerson Drive to I-95.

Community input is an important part of this effort. Residents and business owners are encouraged to complete the online surveys before Monday, February 23, 2026.

The City of Palm Bay appreciates the community's engagement and collaboration as it works to enhance and beautify this important gateway corridor.
