NYSP responds to crash on Interstate in Marathon

On October 11, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Troopers from SP Homer were dispatched by the Cortland County 911 Center to a crash on Interstate 81 north in the town of Marathon.

No injuries were reported in the crash that involved a tractor trailer and an RV. The RV sustained quite a bit of damage while the tractor trailer sustained minor damage.

An investigation at the scene revealed that the operator of the RV failed to observe a tractor trailer had slowed in traffic due to a construction zone approximately a half a mile away.
