VodafoneThree upgraded 4G and 5G standalone coverage at two Swansea University campuses to support research into health and wellbeing devices and sensors.
United Kingdom, 29 July 2026 - VodafoneThree, through its enterprise arm Vodafone Business, has deployed 5G standalone coverage across Swansea University's Singleton and Bay campuses, alongside enhanced 4G services, in partnership with the university and the Swansea Bay City Deal. Students, staff and visitors using the campuses now benefit from faster data speeds and more reliable voice services.
The operator said the 5G standalone deployment will support the university's research 'living lab', including projects involving health, fitness and wellbeing devices and sensors, enabling data to be collected and analysed in real time to support innovation and digital health services. VodafoneThree added that 5G standalone is now available to more than 75% of Swansea's population as part of its wider United Kingdom network investment programme.
