Georgia DOT Seeks Input on the FY 2026 Amendment for the FY 2024 - 2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program

ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) proposes to amend the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 portion of the FY 2024 - 2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The STIP is Georgia's four-year transportation and capital improvements program. The STIP lists federally funded transportation projects that are located outside the Metropolitan Transportation Organization (MPO) boundaries. The purpose of this amendment is to redemonstrate fiscal constraint for FY 2026 and to reflect any project phase changes that have occurred since the current STIP's joint approval by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) on October 20, 2023.

Along with seeking input on the FY 2026 STIP Amendment, Georgia DOT is informing the public of projects awarded by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division (EFLHD) during FY 2025 - FY 2028 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Midyear Update, which describes those transportation projects that will be primarily implemented within the boundaries of the Federal Land Management Agency (FLMA) units located in Georgia. These projects will be amended into an appendix of the current STIP for reference. Any public comments received for these projects will be shared with the project sponsor(s).

The public comment period is currently open and will close on July 31, 2025. We encourage the public to share their thoughts on the materials located here as part of the proposed FY 2026 STIP amendment.
