MARCH 2, 2026
Billy Idol and Iron Maiden have been nominated for induction into the 2026 class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. BMG proudly serves as both the music publisher and record label for both artists.
Finalist inductees will be announced in April, with the induction ceremony to take place later in the fall.
This marks Iron Maiden's third nomination, with previous nods in 2021 and 2023, while Billy Idol earns his second consecutive nomination.
In 2025, Billy Idol released Dream Into It, his first full-length album of new material in over a decade via Dark Horse Records/BMG. The album debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Album Sales Chart and reached No. 2 in Germany. His recent documentary, Billy Idol Should Be Dead, chronicles his career and journey to overcoming adversity, featuring never-before-seen footage.
Idol said of the nomination, "It's really exciting. It would be incredible [to be inducted] this year. This is 50 years ago when I started [with the band Generation X], so it would be really incredible. It would cap off an amazing 50 years."

Iron Maiden's ongoing creative activity includes continued engagement with their catalog, having released a 40th-anniversary vinyl celebrating their album LIVE AFTER DEATH in 2025. The group will continue their "Run For Your Lives World Tour" later this year after their documentary Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition hits theaters on May 7.
