The City Council on Tuesday celebrated the City's photo contest and recognized a milestone anniversary of a local nonprofit organization, among other business.
In honor of the City's recent photo contest, a video of the entries received played, and Mayor Bob Ruesch announced his favorite photo and winner of the gift bag.
The Council also proclaimed September as National Service Dog Month, and recognized the 50th anniversary of Canine Companions, a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing expertly trained service dogs.
Another presentation on Tuesday featured a report on the City's inaugural BBQ Music Fest in July and included a video of the event by the MVTV News team.
In City business, the Council awarded an amendment for continued building plan check and inspection services to Charles Abbot Associates, Inc.
The City Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. Meetings are streamed live on the City's website and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
