Central American Buyers Study U.S. Beef in Wisconsin

Published: Oct 12, 2025

With U.S. beef exports expanding to Central America, USMEF led a team of buyers from the region to Wisconsin to build relationships and learn more about the production practices behind U.S. beef quality and consistency. USMEF Central America Representative Lucia Ruano led the team on tours of plants, farms and retail outlets while fostering discussion between team members and beef industry representatives.

The team toured and met with staff at Festival Foods in Kimberly; RiverEdge Farms in Chilton; American Foods Group, Maplewood Meats and JBS Foods in Green Bay; and Ebert Enterprises in Algoma.

Funding support was provided by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and USDA's Regional Agricultural Promotion Program.

USMEF brought the Central American team to Riveredge Farms to learn about growing quality feed ingredients and cattle genetics programs.
