Dr. Angell Howard honored with LOVE Award for exemplifying Individualized Attention

Illinois State University proudly recognizes Dr. Angell Howard, associate director of Professional Development and Staff Recognition, as a recipient of the Living Our Values in Excellence (LOVE) Award, honoring her outstanding demonstration of the core value of Individualized Attention. The LOVE Award celebrates individuals who consistently live out the values outlined in the University's Excellence by Design: 2024-2030 strategic plan. Dr. Howard's recognition highlights her daily and sustained commitment to focus on people, relationships and belonging.

Her work consistently advances a learner centered, people-first environment, by ensuring that students and colleagues alike feel seen, valued and supported as whole individuals - hallmarks of Illinois State University's strategic vision.

Through several roles on campus, Dr. Howard embodies Excellence by Design's commitment to fostering environments where individuals can fully engage, learn, and thrive- mentoring both students and staff, facilitating professional development, while meeting people where they are in ways that honor their lived experiences.
