Hosted by ICANN and the Korea Internet & Security Agency, the Regional APIGA will be held 20-24 July 2026 in Busan, Republic of Korea. More details, including application information, can be found on the APIGA 2026 website.
Launched in 2016, the APIGA program marks its 10th anniversary this year. To stay informed about this special anniversary APIGA edition, follow ICANN's announcements and social media channels.
APIGA is a capacity-development program focused on Internet governance (IG) targeting youths in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
As of 2024, the APIGA program was expanded and now includes an annual Regional APIGA held in the Republic of Korea complemented by several Local APIGA events in different economies throughout the APAC region.
Through the program, participants will build a strong foundation in IG fundamentals. This includes guided pathways to continue participating in the IG space with ICANN, the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre, the Internet Engineering Task Force, the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum, and various other IG forums.
Participants will learn via immersive, hands-on sessions with dedicated mentoring by regional industry experts. They will also build a strong network of peers, APIGA alumni, leading APAC Internet organizations, and key APAC community leaders. Past data shows that one in four APIGA alumni continue to participate in IG forums locally, regionally, and globally.
Individuals from the APAC region between the ages of 18 and 35 (inclusive) interested in IG issues are welcome to apply. For more information, including application criteria and timeline, please visit the APIGA 2026 website.
