CAMP HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea - Brig. Gen. Robert "Todd" S. Brown assumed command of the 2nd Infantry Division/ROK-U.S. Combined Division during a ceremony at Robertson Field on Camp Humphreys, Oct. 7, 2026.

Brown became the division's 90th commanding general, succeeding Maj. Gen. Charles T. Lombardo, who relinquished command July 24. Brown now leads the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed combined division. The 2nd Infantry Division/ROK-U.S. Combined Division unites Republic of Korea and U.S. Soldiers in a shared headquarters. Its combined structure strengthens coordination, develops shared understanding, and builds the professional relationships required to accomplish the mission.

"To the soldiers, families, and allies of the warrior division, and to everyone watching across this peninsula, you can sleep well tonight on this peninsula because when the chips are down, you can rest assured that one division on this peninsula will live up to its name, the Warrior Division, led by a real warrior." said Lt. Gen. Joseph Hilbert, commanding general of Eighth Army.

The division's four lines of effort: readiness, combined cooperation, modernization, and people, guides its preparation for mission on the Korean Peninsula. They link realistic training and equipment readiness with the development of capable leaders and cohesive teams.

"True readiness is built on the ranges. It's built in live fires and combined maneuvers under the toughest, most realistic conditions we can replicate." said Hilbert.

Supporting Soldiers, civilians and families also remain central to sustaining the force. Service in Korea also depends on relationships with local communities that extend beyond military training.

Brown's assumption of command begins a new chapter for a division whose service in Korea dates to the Korean War. He assumes responsibility for preparing the combined formation, strengthening the alliance, and sustaining the relationships that support its mission.

"I understand the power of our alliance," said Brown. "It is the honor of a lifetime to take command of this storied division."
