SIKESTON-Northbound and southbound U.S. Route 67 in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction as contractor crews construct median crossovers. The crossovers will be constructed in preparation for replacing the northbound U.S. 67 bridge over Otter Creek.
This section of roadway is located between County Road 546 and County Road 547 near Otter Creek.
Weather permitting, work to construct the median crossovers will begin Thursday, Oct. 16 at 6 a.m., with completion anticipated Sunday, Nov. 30. The work zone will remain in place until the work is completed.
During the bridge replacement project, traffic will utilize the median crossovers to shift to a head-to-head configuration on the southbound bridge. The head-to-head configuration will allow the roadway to remain open for a majority of work, with one lane of traffic in each direction in the vicinity of the bridge.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
