Canal Alliance Ambassadors Bring El Niño Preparedness to the Canal

With a strong El Niño expected to bring heavier rain this winter, the City of San Rafael is working with Canal Alliance to make sure residents of the Canal neighborhood have the information they need to stay safe.

Canal Alliance's community ambassadors are heading out door to door to talk with residents about El Niño and flooding. Their outreach is focused first on first-floor apartments, which are more vulnerable to flooding. The ambassadors are making good connections with neighbors and sharing preparedness information along the way. When residents aren't home, they leave a door hanger with important information so no one is missed.
