HONOLULU, Nov. 2, 2026 - Hawaiian Electric has worked with ALOHA Collection to create exclusive, custom-made bags featuring the utility's purple logo interwoven with a rose-and-pikake floral design as a fundraiser for Aloha United Way, Hawaii Island United Way and Maui United Way. The lightweight, water-resistant bags are only available for purchase at hawaiianelectric.com/ALOHAcollection until Monday, Nov. 16, 2026, 10 a.m. HST, on a first-come, first-served basis and while supplies last.
The limited-edition ALOHA Collection-made bags can be purchased as follows:
Each bag comes in ALOHA Collection packaging with a hang tag and postcard. A flat rate shipping cost of $12 (Hawaii) or $18 (U.S. Mainland) will be added at check-out.
The idea for the fundraiser came from Tatiana Quong, a senior business solutions consultant in Hawaiian Electric's operations training area who has long been a fan of the popular ALOHA Collection brand. Quong approached the retailer with her fundraiser idea and worked with them on the bag's custom-made design to incorporate Hawaiian Electric's modern logo, which was created in 2013 by respected Hilo artist Sig Zane, his wife, Nalani, and their son Kuhao.
The elements of Hawaiian Electric's logo are called "Kahikuonalani" and honors King Kalakaua, the seventh sovereign, who brought electricity to Iolani Palace in the 1880s. His vision led to the formation of Hawaiian Electric in 1891.
