Personal Care Products Council Applauds U.S. Senate Designation of July as National Anti-Counterfeiting and Consumer Education and Awareness Month

Washington, D.C.-The Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) applauds the U.S. Senate for designating July as National Anti-Counterfeiting and Consumer Education and Awareness Month.

This observance highlights the growing threat of counterfeit products, including those impacting the cosmetics and personal care products industry. These illegal and unregulated products pose serious risks to consumers' health and undermine the safety standards and guidelines outlined in the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act.

PCPC and its member companies strongly support the Senate's leadership in raising public awareness and promoting consumer education. We will continue to work with lawmakers, enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to educate consumers about the dangers of counterfeit products and the industry's commitment to ensuring the safety, quality and efficacy of the cosmetics and personal care products used daily.
