Kearns Brings Mobile DMV to Build Promise Community Access Center

County Clerk Offering State-Issued Identification to Individuals in Need

Erie County, New York- Erie County Clerk Michael P. Kearns announced that the Clerk's Auto Bureau Division has partnered with the Build Promise/Amy's Place of Hope Community Access Center to bring their Mobile DMV to residents and clients in need of state-issued identification.

This Community outreach event will take place on Friday, November 21st from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the new Build Promise Community Access Center located at 1297 Sycamore Street, Buffalo, NY 14211. No reservations are required; walk-ins welcome!

The initiative is part of Clerk Kearns' ongoing commitment to ensuring that every individual in Erie County has access to the tools and resources necessary to overcome barriers to success - leading to a life of self-sufficiency and prosperity.

Through this collaboration, individuals experiencing homelessness or facing financial hardship will be afforded the opportunity to obtain or renew a New York State non-driver identification card or driver's license directly onsite. In addition, they may surrender license plates, register a vehicle, and receive guidance regarding other services and requirements offered by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

"Access to valid identification is often the first step toward rebuilding stability - it's needed for housing, employment, and even healthcare," said Erie County Clerk Michael P. Kearns. "By bringing these services directly to Amy's Place Community Access Center, we are helping to remove barriers and connect residents to opportunities for independence and success."

The Build Promise Community Access Center, part of St. Luke's Mission of Mercy, works to create a safe and supportive environment where every individual has access to essential services - including housing assistance, health care, and workforce development - all in one location.

"Build Promise and Amy's Place of Hope are thrilled to partner with the Erie County DMV and other providers to expand vital community access to state-issued identification, health, mental health, literacy, veteran and social services. Together, we're walking alongside the vulnerable in our community to help change the trajectory of their lives", remarked Samuel DiVincenzo, Executive Director of Build Promise.

"This partnership underscores a shared mission between Build Promise, Amy's Place of Hope and the Erie County Clerk's Office to empower residents, promote dignity, and build a stronger, more inclusive community, added DiVencenzo. "With the community's prayers and support, we are moving closer each day to transforming more lives of our neighbors in need."
