APPOINTMENT OF NEW HEADS OF DIPLOMATIC MISSION OF MALAYSIA

His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, today presented the Letters of Credence to five (5) newly appointed Heads of Mission of Malaysia during a ceremony held at Istana Negara. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, YB Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tan Sri Amran bin Mohamed Zin. The newly appointed Heads of Mission are:
H.E. Dato' Muzafar Shah bin Mustafa
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Republic of Indonesia
Dato' Muzafar Shah bin Mustafa hails from Perak and holds a Master's Degree in Regional Integration from University Malaya. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in 1995. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Indonesia, he served as the High Commissioner of Malaysia to India since 2023.
During his diplomatic career, he served as Ambassador of Malaysia to Mexico and Venezuela and was posted to Malaysia's missions in Berlin and Baghdad.
At the Ministry, he held various senior positions including Undersecretary of the Finance Division, Deputy Chief of Protocol and Deputy Director-General of the Policy Planning and Strategic Department. He also served in the West Asia Division and the ASEAN-Malaysia National Secretariat.
H.E. Jamal Sharifuddin bin Johan
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam
Jamal Sharifuddin bin Johan was born in Kuala Lumpur and holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in 2000. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador-designate to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, he served as Ambassador of Malaysia to Mexico since 2023.
His overseas assignments include serving as Deputy High Commissioner at the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore, as well as postings to Malaysia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York and the Embassies of Malaysia in Pyongyang and Berne.
At the Ministry, he served as Undersecretary of the Multilateral Political Affairs Division, Deputy Director General of ASEAN-Malaysia National Secretariat and in the Southeast Asia Division.
H.E. Muhammad Radzi bin Jamaludin
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the United Mexican States
Muhammad Radzi bin Jamaludin, from Perak, holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin, United States of America. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in 2000. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador designate to the United Mexican States, he was the Ambassador of Malaysia to Cuba since 2023.
His overseas assignments include serving as Deputy High Commissioner at the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore, as well as postings in Ottawa, Berlin, Santiago and Lagos.
At the Ministry, he served as Deputy Chief of Protocol and Undersecretary of the Consular Division, in addition to assignments in Europe, Americas & Africa Directorate, Southeast Asia Division and Finance Division.
H.E. Dato' Shahabudeen bin Adam Shah
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Republic of Italy
Dato' Shahabudeen bin Adam Shah, from Kuala Lumpur, holds a Bachelor of Human Sciences (Honours) in Political Science from the International Islamic University Malaysia. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in 2002. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador designate to the Republic of Italy, he served as Ambassador of Malaysia to Morocco since 2023.
His diplomatic postings include serving as Minister at the Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo, as well as assignments in Washington, D.C. and in Amman.
At the Ministry, he served as Undersecretary of the Development Division and the West Asia Division, and held assignments in Americas Division, Middle East & North Africa Division, as well as Europe & Central Asia Division.
H.E. Edi Irwan bin Mahmud
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Morocco
Edi Irwan bin Mahmud, from Negeri Sembilan, holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from University Putra Malaysia. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in 2001. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Morocco, he was the Ambassador of Malaysia to Laos since 2023.
He served as the Consul General of Malaysia in Perth, as well as assignments in Suva, Hanoi and Sana'a.
At the Ministry, he served as Deputy Chief of Protocol and Deputy Director-General of the Policy Planning and Coordination Department. He also served in the Information & Public Diplomacy Department, Africa & South Sahara Division and West Asia Division.
