Honda Civic Hybrid Named “Best Value” by The Drive

February 3, 2026 - TORRANCE, Calif.

The Honda Civic hybrid has been named "Best Value" of 2026 by The Drive. This marks the third time the Honda Civic hybrid has been honored by the editors of The Drive since the inception of the online publication's awards program in 2022.

What The Drive Said About the Honda Civic hybrid:

Whether in Sedan or Hatchback trim, the Honda Civic Hybrid embodies value like no other car currently does. Furthermore, this bang-for-the-buck mindset and Civic hybrid's phenomenal fuel economy don't come at the expense of driving enjoyment. With 200 horsepower, sporty handling, and a supremely comfortable interior, it's one of the few cars on the market that will appeal to enthusiasts and regular consumers alike.

The Drive Awards recognize the best vehicles currently on sale based on an extensive evaluation by the expert The Drive editorial staff. Rated on a scale of 1 to 10, factors evaluated in the scoring of each vehicle include driving satisfaction, usability, standard equipment compared to its rivals, fuel economy and value. The Honda Civic hybrid was tested twice in 2025, scoring 9 and 9.5.

Honda Civic Hybrid
Positioned at the top of the Honda Civic lineup, the new Civic hybrid, the electrified variant of America's most popular compact car, was named the 2025 North American Car of the Year.

Offered as either a sedan or hatchback, Civic hybrid is powered by the award-winning fourth-generation of the Honda two-motor hybrid-electric powertrain. The ultra-smooth and responsive Honda two-motor hybrid system maximizes fuel-efficiency without compromising dynamic performance or passenger and cargo space to deliver a sportier and more pleasant driving experience.

With a combined 200 horsepower and an impressive 232 lb.-ft. of torque, Civic Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid are the most powerful non-Type R Civics ever. Featuring two large and powerful electric motors, the Honda two-motor hybrid system gives Civic hybrid quick, effortless acceleration with outstanding EPA fuel economy ratings - including a 50-mpg city rating for Civic Sedan Sport and Sport Touring hybrids3.

The award-winning 11th-generation Civic is a gateway to the Honda brand and America's most popular vehicle with Gen Z, first-time buyers and multicultural customers1. Honda Civic is America's best-selling compact car since 19732.
