Lt. Gov. Crouch, IHCDA launch crowdfunding campaign for Town of Ladoga Playground

$50,000 goal to receive a matching grant through IHCDA's CreatINg Places initiative

LADOGA, Ind. (Oct. 3, 2024) - The Town of Ladoga will soon have a new, accessible children's playground if this crowdfunding campaign reaches its goal of raising $50,000 by Dec. 2, 2024. If successful, the project led by the Town of Ladoga will receive a matching grant as part of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority's (IHCDA) CreatINg Places program.

"Hoosier children of all abilities should have the opportunity to safely engage in play with their peers," said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, Indiana's Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development. "The proposed improvements to Ladoga's playground address that need, and I am excited to see this project take shape."

Funds from this campaign will be used to create a safe new playscape, blending traditional and inclusive play equipment in two fully accessible play areas.

"Ladoga community members, the school, the town and the township are working together to create an inclusive playground for our thriving small town," said campaign organizer Amy Reeves. "Hours of forethought have gone into this unique design that focuses on creative and physical outdoor learning areas accessible to all abilities. Once funded, the community can look forward to seeing it take shape. I can't wait to see Ladoga's youth enjoying the new space."

Since the CreatINg Places program began in 2016, projects have raised more than $11.3 million in public funds and an additional $9.6 million in matching IHCDA funds. The program is available to projects located in Indiana communities. Non-profit entities (with 501c3 or 501c4 status) and local units of government are eligible to apply. Eligible projects must have a minimum total development cost of $10,000, where the recipient will receive $5,000 in IHCDA matching funds should it successfully raise $5,000 through Patronicity. IHCDA will provide matching grant funds up to $50,000 per project.
