The Council of Europe's Congress of Local and Regional Authorities has enjoyed a huge response to its call for applications from young people across the organisation's member states, to take part in its 2025 youth delegates programme.
445 applications from 45 member states were received by the 31 December deadline, representing a new record for the level of interest in the programme, which is part of the Congress's "Rejuvenating Politics" initiative. One young person, aged between 18 and 30 years old, from each of the 46 member states of the Council of Europe will be invited by the Congress to take an active part as a youth delegate in its March and October plenary sessions in 2025, and also to develop their own grassroots projects back home.
