Mercy’s ACO Model Stands Out on the National Stage

ST. LOUIS - Mercy has once again been named one of Becker's Hospital Review's 50 ACOs to Know. This national list highlights organizations that help patients stay healthier through more coordinated care.

Mercy's ACO supports hundreds of thousands of Medicare patients each year and is one of the largest in the country. By focusing on preventive care and keeping care teams connected, Mercy saved more than $103 million in the most recent reporting year and more than $463 million over the past seven years. These savings help both patients and taxpayers.

Quality is a major part of this work. Mercy ranks third in quality among ACOs of similar size and highest in the communities we serve. These ratings are based on more than 30 federal measures that look at safety, care coordination, preventive screenings and patient experience.

Mercy, one of the 15 largest U.S. health systems and named the top large system in the U.S. for excellent patient experience by NRC Health, serves millions annually with nationally recognized care and one of the nation's largest and highest performing Accountable Care Organizations in quality and cost. Mercy is a highly integrated, multi-state health care system including 55 acute care and specialty (heart, children's, orthopedic and rehab) hospitals, convenient and urgent care locations, imaging centers and pharmacies.
