CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Today, Governor Patrick Morrisey signed a proclamation in remembrance of the victims of the terrorist attacks of October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants murdered more than 1,200 Israelis and took 254 hostages. The Governor called upon West Virginians to pause and reflect on the lives lost and to reject hatred and antisemitism that pervades much of the world.
"On October 7, 2023, the world watched in horror as innocent men, women, and children were brutally attacked simply for who they were," said Governor Morrisey. "We must never forget the evil that occurred that day or the remaining hostages that have now spent two years in captivity away from their homes and loved ones. West Virginians stand with our allies and with all people of goodwill who reject terror, hatred, and antisemitism."
