Mayor O'Connell joined Congressman Jake Auchincloss and members of our State Delegation this week for a visit to one of Myles Standish Industrial Park's innovative powerhouses-IQE.
IQE is a cutting-edge manufacturer of RF epitaxial wafer products, which are used in everything from cell phones and tablets to electric vehicles and radar systems. If you're holding a smart device right now, there's a chance a piece of it was made right here in Taunton!
With 50 employees and growing, IQE is preparing for a major expansion into chip manufacturing in the next 12-18 months. To support this growth, they'll need to double their electrical capacity, marking a significant infrastructure upgrade in partnership with TMLP-a key topic of this week's discussion.
Companies like IQE are what make the Myles Standish Industrial Park a cornerstone of advanced manufacturing and economic growth in Southeastern Massachusetts.
