FORT WORTH, TEXAS, June 12, 2026 - Members of the Transportation Communications Union/IAM (TCU) announced today the ratification of a new collective bargaining agreement with BNSF Railway. The five-year agreement covers BNSF Union 41 members at its Fort Worth headquarters.
"The ratification of this agreement reflects the strength of the partnership we've built with TCU/IAM's Fort Worth team members and our shared commitment to excellence," said BNSF President and Chief Executive Officer Katie Farmer. "Together we are well positioned to continue our forward progress on safety, service and reliability."
The agreement covers member wage increases totaling 17.5% over five years (18.8% compounded) with retroactive pay beginning July 1, 2025, as well as accelerated enhancements in vacation and preserved health care benefits.
"We are proud to deliver a strong agreement for our Union 41 members," said TCU/IAM National Representative Kevin Lattimer. "This agreement provides strong wages and vacation improvements and preserves the employees' health and welfare benefits. The resounding ratification results indicate that our members recognize the value of this agreement."
This ratified agreement follows the same terms as the current national pattern. More than 96 percent of BNSF's workforce is currently covered under ratified agreements.
