INVISTA to continue HMD production in Orange, Texas

ORANGE, Texas (Oct. 23, 2024) - INVISTA today announced it would continue hexamethylene diamine (HMD) production at its site in Orange, Texas.

"Since last year's announcement regarding ending adiponitrile (ADN) and HMD operations at our Orange site, multiple circumstances have changed, including the Orange site's demonstrated ability to operate as an HMD-only facility in a safe, reliable and competitive manner," said Francis Murphy, INVISTA president and CEO. "We are pleased to be moving forward with long-term HMD production in Orange."

INVISTA's Upstream Nylon business will continue to focus on increasing its ability to reliably supply customers with products in the nylon 6,6 value chain - from ADN to polymer.
