Southwestern Oklahoma State University's Master of Education in Education Administration program has been named to OnlineMasters.com's 2026 list of the Best 50 Master's in Education Administration Programs.
SWOSU's nationally accredited, 33-hour program prepares educators for leadership positions at the building and district levels, including roles as principals and superintendents. Both building-level and district-level certification are offered within the same program, which can be completed in approximately 18 months and concludes with a full-semester, 120-hour internship.
The program's live, webinar-based format allows educators to continue working while completing their degree without regularly traveling to campus. Faculty members bring experience as public school educators and administrators to their courses, which center on research-based practices and situations school leaders encounter in their work.
Practicing administrators from across Oklahoma also participate as guest speakers, giving candidates opportunities to hear from leaders serving different schools, districts and communities.
"The webinar-based design of our program, as well as including practicing administrators from across the state as guest speakers, provides candidates with an opportunity to engage in diverse learning activities from experienced leaders without the need to attend class in a physical setting," said Dr. Andy North, professor in the SWOSU Department of Education and director of the Education Administration program.
North said the additional recognition is evidence of the continued commitment of the Educational Administration faculty and the Department of Education. Earlier this year, Research.com named SWOSU's M.Ed. in Education Administration the 2026 Best Online College Program in Oklahoma.
OnlineMasters.com develops its rankings by reviewing accredited, nonprofit institutions and evaluating academic quality, graduation outcomes, program cost and return on investment, and resources available to online students. Its research draws from sources including the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard, the National Center for Education Statistics, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, College Board, established ranking organizations and publicly available institutional data.
In addition to the Educational Administration program, SWOSU offers a variety of online undergraduate and graduate programs that maintain the same academic standards, faculty access, and student support services available on campus.
