VICTORY FOR GUN SAFETY: Nicole Cannizzaro Elected Attorney General of Nevada

WASHINGTON - Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and its grassroots networks, Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action, declared a major victory today as voters elected State Senator Nicole Cannizzaro as Attorney General of Nevada.

"As a prosecutor, Nicole Cannizzaro spent years holding people accountable for gun violence, and now she'll continue that work as Nevada's top law enforcement officer," said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. "Everytown congratulates Attorney General-elect Cannizzaro, and we look forward to working with her to keep Nevada communities safe."

"Session after session, Nicole Cannizzaro helped push gun safety bills through the Nevada Senate, and our volunteers saw that commitment up close," said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. "As attorney general, she'll be the one defending those laws, and the families who fought to pass them. Our movement congratulates her and is ready to work with her."

"Nicole Cannizzaro has shown Nevada families that our safety matters to her, and we're so glad to call her our next attorney general," said Aurora Cox, a volunteer with the Nevada chapter of Moms Demand Action. "We know how hard we fought for the laws on the books today, and it means a lot to know she'll be in our corner."

Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund endorsed 503 gun safety champions running at every level of government, from statehouses to governor's offices. Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers made more than 10 million voter contacts to help elect them.
