MoDOT: Bridge Rehabilitation Projects on Christian County Route CC/J in Ozark

and U.S. Route 160 in Highlandville To Begin Sunday Night, October 5

Ozark & Highlandville, Christian County - A project to rehabilitate two bridges, the Christian County Route CC/J Bridge over U.S. Route 65 in Ozark, and the U.S. Route 160 over the Finley River in Highlandville, is scheduled to start Sunday night, October 5, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The bridge rehabilitation on Route CC/J in Ozark will include installing dual left turn lanes from eastbound Route C to northbound Route 65 and will include a 30-day closure of the Route CC/J eastbound lanes over the bridge during construction. Crews will begin to install the Route CC/J bridge work zone during the nighttime hours of Sunday, October 5.

Crews will begin work and bring out equipment for the bridge rehabilitation on Route 160 in Highlandville beginning Wednesday, October 15. The bridge will remain open, but will have narrowed lanes, lane closures, traffic shifts, and a reduced speed limit during construction.

Project Summary:

  • Christian County Route CC & Route J over Route 65 in Ozark
    • Eastbound Route CC/J bridge rehabilitation over U.S. Route 65
    • Install dual left-turn lanes from eastbound Route CC to northbound U.S. Route 65
  • U.S. Route 160 over the Finley River in Highlandville
    • Route 160 bridge rehabilitation between Riverdale Drive and Finley Drive

Traffic Impacts:

  • Christian County Route CC & Route J over Route 65 in Ozark
    • Eastbound bridge CLOSED for up to 30 days with signed detours
    • Westbound bridge will remain OPEN
    • Eastbound Route CC/J to southbound Route 65 ramp OPEN
    • Westbound Route CC/J to northbound Route 65 ramp OPEN
    • Detour: Route J, southbound Route 65, Route 14/Jackson Street, northbound Route 65
  • U.S. Route 160 over the Finley River in Highlandville will begin October 15
    • Traffic should expect lane and shoulder closures with traffic shifts where crews are working
    • Intermittent lane closures at night
    • Route 160 OPEN in both directions with narrow lanes and reduced speeds during construction
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the closure
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
  • Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closures/traffic impacts

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, October 6, 2025.

Contractor: Louis-Company, LLC, Grain Valley

The estimated project cost is $928,831.

The project is scheduled for completion on December 1, 2025.
